Fred Berning, Jr., Producer - the second oldest and first son in a family of nine overachievers, learned at an early age the value of quality entertainment and has been involved in theatrical production in one form or another since he was ten years old (don’t ask how long that’s been, he won’t say). He received his Bachelors of Fine Art Degree in Performance from the University of Detroit and worked on his Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Scene Design and Lighting Technology at Western Illinois State University. His extensive honors and credits in the entertainment field include receiving the Bronze Medal for Performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. for his part in The American College Theatre Festival, First Place in the Illinois and Missouri Regional Masters Competition for the design and execution of the set for ’Tis Pity She’s a Whore. His skill as a scenic artist has delighted audiences in many Summer Stock and Regional Theatres throughout the Midwest and along the Eastern Seaboard. Fred spent several years at Candlewood Playhouse in Connecticut where he served as the Manager of Public Relations and Marketing. He was the Press and Publicity Manager for two National Bus and Truck tours and his New York credits include several Off-Broadway and Broadway productions, some of which are listed in Theater World (Volume 41). Fred is also a member of the American Film Institute; his screen credits include Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules and Mulan. In September, Fred celebrated his fourteenth anniversary with the Walt Disney Company.
Fred thanks everyone for their support of this “Excellent Adventure!”
